This isn't a software company that learned about farming. It's a farmer who learned to code.
I've spent over 9 years in dairy farm management — running FTAI programs, planning rotations, managing herds and staring down spreadsheets at 10pm the night before a mating round. Every tool I tried was either built for someone else's farm, or required a university degree to understand.
I started learning to code because the tools I needed didn't exist. Not because I wanted to be a developer — because a working farmer can't wait three years for a software company to build what they need.
FarmSystem is the result of that combination: farm management knowledge that runs deep, and technical skills developed in the same environment the tools are built for.
Every feature you see in Herdmate or Graze came from a real problem on a real farm. The 12-hour mating reminders exist because I missed a dose. The rest day warnings exist because I grazed a paddock too early. The tools are personal.
9+ years in dairy farm management. FTAI program design and execution, rotational and MIG grazing, herd records, reproductive efficiency, staff management, compliance and reporting.
PHP 8.x, MySQL/MariaDB, JavaScript (vanilla), Leaflet.js, FullCalendar, Bootstrap. RESTful API design, responsive mobile-first interfaces, server configuration on Linux/Hostinger.
"Farm intelligence, built from the ground up — not adapted from a system that was never designed for farming in the first place."
— FarmSystem mission statement
Both Herdmate and Graze are live and free to use.
